At Resurrection School, students in all grades participate weekly in physical education classes. In addition, all students in Grade 5 through Grade 8 can participate in a wide variety of organized team sports throughout the school year. The Church of the Resurrection also has a very large and vibrant CYO Basketball Program and all Resurrection students in Grade 1 through Grade 8 are eligible to participate.
The Resurrection School Athletic Program provides students with the opportunity to develop and/or improve their athletic skills in a supportive environment that stresses good sportsmanship, teamwork, best effort, and fair play. Our students in Grade 5 through Grade 8 are eligible to compete in many Resurrection School sports teams, including:
Fall Sports: field hockey (girls), soccer (co-ed), cross country (co-ed)
Winter Sports: basketball (boys and girls)
Spring Sports: baseball (boys), tennis (co-ed), lacrosse (boys)
Our teams compete against schools from Westchester (NY) and Fairfield (CT) Counties in the Fairchester Athletic League. There are both home and away games. The activity van is available for transportation for the game farthest away on that particular day.

Resurrection School is fortunate to have two basktball gymnasiums, including one state of the art facility in our Middle School, which was donated by the Doty Family in 2014. The school also has a large campus with outside field space and a newly built basketball court.
The Church of the Resurrection has the largest CYO Basketball program in the Archdiocese of New York. Programs are held year round, and all children in the school and parish are welcome and encouraged to participate.
The purpose of CYO basketball is to provide children with a positive, character-building experience through the vehicle of sports. Children have the opportunity to practice Christian attitudes and responsibilities, build confidence, have fun, and make friends.
