Beginning with life skills learned in Montessori and Traditional Kindergarten programs, the young students at Resurrection School are encouraged to love learning, to explore new and challenging activities, to incorporate religious faith into their lives, and to build lifelong friendships. With this solid foundation and long tradition of academic excellence, many bright futures are begun at Resurrection School.
Resurrection School is committed to developing in each student a genuine love of learning as well as nurturing each child’s spirituality. Religion and service to others are integral parts of the school’s curriculum and philosophy. The formation of each child’s Christian character and values is incorporated into the school’s curriculum.
Resurrection School’s curriculum promotes academic excellence and student achievement within a nurturing, supportive learning environment. Teachers strive to accommodate diverse learning styles and enable each child to reach his or her full potential. Every student is encouraged to become a lifelong learner.
In 2012, Resurrection School began implementation of the Common Core State Standards, the new state learning standards adopted by the State of New York for Grades K through 12 that were designed to provide leaner, more focused and more rigorous curricula than the former state standards.
Common Core is meant to establish a continuum of learning standards for students from elementary school through high school that will increase students’ readiness for college and career expectations.
